The Salvation Army Welcomes New Leadership in Missoula, MT

Jul 5, 2017 | by NW Division

The Salvation Army Northwest Division announces the appointment of Captains Josh and Ryan Boyd to its location at Missoula, MT. They replace Lieutenants Joshua and Loreen Hamilton, who were appointed to The Salvation Army Oregon Headquarters in Portland.

For the past two years, Captains Boyd have served at The Salvation Army in Yakima, WA and were in Anacortes, WA before that. In June 2011, they graduated from The Salvation Army Officer Training College in Rancho Palos Verdes, CA.

As Salvation Army officers, the Captains expect to be reassigned throughout their careers. The commitment of being an officer includes moving your family frequently, and accepting reassignments based on career development and filling the needs of The Salvation Army locations. The assignment in Missoula is an acknowledgement of their ability to manage large social services program and growing congregation.

They begin work in Missoula on June 28. “We are so grateful for the opportunity to work in such a wonderful city!” Captain Ryan Boyd said. “We are excited to get started in Missoula and to partner with this amazing community.”

Established in 1894, The Salvation Army in Missoula provides social services to families in need. Among the programs offered are emergency financial assistance, eviction prevention, food and nutrition programs, emergency disaster services, and the new hygiene center for homeless teens. Last year, The Salvation Army in Missoula served more than 4,000 individuals in the community.
