The Salvation Army Welcomes New Assistant Leaders In Tacoma, WA

Aug 17, 2016 | by NW Division

The Salvation Army Northwest Division welcomes Lieutenants Jeremy and Andrea Reedy to its location in Tacoma, WA. Lts. Reedy will be the Assistant Corps Officers, working alongside Majors Donald and Martha Sheppard.

For the past two years, Lts. Reedy have served at The Salvation Army in Great Falls, MT. In June 2014, they graduated from The Salvation Army Officer Training College in Ranchos Palos Verdes, CA, receiving Associate of Arts in Ministry degrees. Prior to becoming officers, Lt. Jeremy worked in construction, and Lt. Andrea worked in the medical field.

Lts. Reedy have four children: son Anthony (age 14), son Dylan (age 13), daughter Kaydence (age nine), and daughter Evangeline (age eight).

As Salvation Army officers, the Lts. expect to be reassigned throughout their careers. The commitment of being an officer includes moving your family frequently, and accepting reassignments based on career development and filling the needs of The Salvation Army locations.

They began work in Tacoma on June 29. “We are excited to come alongside the existing leadership and help meet the needs in Tacoma,” Lt. Andrea Reedy said.

Established in 1888, The Salvation Army in Tacoma provides social services to families in need. Among the programs offered are meal program, food bank, rent and utility assistance, emergency disaster services, and thrift stores. Holiday programs include holiday meals, food baskets, and toy donations. Last year, The Salvation Army in Tacoma served more than 35,000 individuals in the community.
