Hockey Skills Lab with Northwest Youth Ambassador Philipp Grubauer

Earlier this month, Seattle Kraken Goalie Philipp Grubauer came to The Salvation Army's Seattle White Center to teach local kids more about hockey!

Salvation Army kids in after-school programs throughout King County were able to attend this event and learn how to play hockey from a pro!

Salvation Army kids entered the White Center gym and learned the game's rules, ensuring everyone had a fun and safe afternoon. Philipp provided a few hockey pointers and was presented with his very own Salvation Army jersey! Kids participated in a warm-up and then were split into teams to begin playing. There were four skill; stations set up around the gym, one of which was hosted by Philipp.

After each group rotated through each station and tested their skills, the kids could sit down with Philipp and ask him questions about hockey. The kids were curious to learn more about his love for the game and his career in the NHL. After a fun question and answer session, pizza was served for dinner, and all the kids had the opportunity to take a photo with Philipp and get his autograph!
