Aug 1, 2017 | by NW Division

The Salvation Army Northwest Division announces the appointment of Lieutenants Ginifer and Steven Pack to its location in Tacoma. They will be Assistant Corps Officers and work alongside Majors Donald and Martha Sheppard.

Salvation Army officers are reassigned throughout their careers. The commitment of being an officer includes moving your family frequently, and accepting reassignments based on career development and filling the needs of The Salvation Army locations.

In June 2016, Lts. Pack graduated from The Salvation Army Officer Training College in Rancho Palos Verdes, CA, each with an Associate of Arts degree in Ministry. Lt. Steven also holds a degree in American Sign Language. Prior to moving to Tacoma, Lts. Pack were assistant officers in Seattle at the Greenwood location.

Lts. Pack have two daughters and a son: Riley (age nine), Elizabeth (age seven), and Joshua (age 8 months)

They began work in Tacoma on June 28. “We are so very excited to join a great ministry team in Tacoma,” Lt. Gin Pack said. “The need is great in Tacoma but God is greater; we are excited to see how we can effectively serve the community.”

Established in 1888, The Salvation Army in Tacoma provides social services to families in need. Among the programs offered are emergency utility assistance, eviction prevention, food and nutrition programs, after-school youth activities, and emergency disaster services. Last year, The Salvation Army Tacoma served more than 30,500 individuals in the community.
